Parallel Session : Smart, Resilient and Sustainable Societies

"Spatially Enabled Future Cities"

The session brings together different stakeholders from government, private sector and academia, specifically from Singapore and the UK, to discuss and showcase initiatives towards building a Future City which is Smart, Resilient and Sustainable. The session explores the role of the Digital Twin in the context of planning, designing and operating cities for the future and considers the implications for geospatial agencies. It highlights the importance of fundamental geoinformation and modern positioning infrastructure for the development of Smart Cities. Details of projects which have adopted key geoinformation and technologies are presented as they consider the evolving role standards play to support these technologies. Information is offered about how the Digital Twin concept is helping to model and visualise multiple scenarios in industry today. While the session is jointly organised by the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) and Ordnance Survey (OS), UK it will be of interest to geospatial agencies, both with national and municipal jurisdiction, owners of distributed infrastructure assets and any organisation with an interest in the use of geospatial data to support urban planning, risk management, policy formulation and operation.
