This session brings together professionals and non-professionals active in efforts to include non-traditional mapping and data collection. "Crowd and Expert Sourcing" contributors use data from various resources to build a national spatial databases - this is their story. Community mapping that engages participation from those interested in improving their communities shines a spotlight on the power of this volunteer resource. "Crowdsourced Bathymetry" is a novel yet practical method of data collection of depth measurements from vessels, using standard navigation instruments, while engaged in routine maritime operations. This relatively new methodology contributes to the goals of collecting and maintaining geospatial data while supporting sustainability.
